Stephanie Stewart-Howard is an artist, actor, costume designer, researcher, dreamer, doer, cook, gardener, and oh yeah, kind of prolific writer too.
Formerly managing editor at Nashville Lifestyles magazine (to which she still contributes), she writes a lot about food, wine, fashion, farm-to-table culture, travel and popular culture. Her more than five years at the magazine were spent as a powerhouse one-woman writing and editorial staff, building content across disciplines for Nashville Lifestyles, Nashville Lifestyles Weddings, Murfreesboro Magazine, Nashville Lifestyles At Home and Sumner Lifestyles – perhaps the only single individual in a similar production role in the country.
As a writer, she also explores intriguing lives and hobbies, stretching from the Living History movement to belly dance, theatre and things of interest to other girls with DragonCon or burlesque costumes in their closets.
Besides Nashville Lifestyles, she has contributed to, Nashville Arts Magazine, NFocus Nashville, The Tennessean, Cheers! and Sports Nashville, among other publications.
Born in Virginia and brought up worldwide thanks to her dad’s career in the Air Force then corporate America, she now resides in an old farm house in Williamson County, Tennessee with her husband Seth (an IT professional and bladesmith), a power-mad Maine Coon cat named Wickett, a whip smart gray tabby called Sigrun, and sometimes Stephanie’s dad’s setter dog, Macallan.
Whether you need a story on fine wines, Southern cuisine, or a hot regional designer, a bit of freelance PR, a dose of humor, someone to play Titania in Midsummer Night’s Dream or a historically accurate reproduction of a 14th century English gown, Stephanie can make it happen.
When not working, you might find her swimming in the Caney Fork River at Rock Island, Tennessee, but chances are, she’s writing about the experience in her head already.
